Salma
Welcome to Bottled Ships!

I’m a Senior in college. English major, Biology minor. The classroom is my natural habitat.
My family is Egyptian, but I was born in America. Who I am is a result of growing up in both cultures.
I love to write & I love to read.
Give me your time and I’ll make you hear the melody of my thoughts with every ensemble of words.
I see and understand the world through metaphors. I love details, how they embroider our experiences and show us how things relate. I write because I want to make people feel. I want to make them think. I want them to see how life is an amazing web of connections and parallels; how nothing is a coincidence and everything happens for a reason. There is a divine order to our very disorderly lives, and it is the most liberating feeling when you are able to see it. If I can help you see that through my life, I’ve shared something priceless.

I think reading is cool, but I just dont know where to start. Not knowing where to start has stalled my reading list. I want to read…but I dont know what. There is hesitation. There are a lot of what, if and buts involved. A lot of the time, things get boring and the book reaches its premature ending almost always. I need reading to become more fun for me. Any tips?

Raza: Ask someone who you have a lot in common with to recommend you the best book they’ve read. Chances are you’ll enjoy it too. Then you just need to pick it up and start. But don’t try during a time when you know you’re super busy. I usually only read in the summer. I know if I start one during the semester, I’ll never get through it.
